Costless

Costless is a small regional grocery chain in California. Their logo has not changed since the 1990’s, and could do with an according refresh. I designed and pitched this logo, but for financial and timing reasons, the company declined.

Main Logo

The idea of this logo is to build a trusted and sophisticated brand for a local chain. A change in environment in a business begins with the logo. This logo is intended to help transform the local chain into a store that looks and feels just like a large brand.

Main Icon

Much like the crown in the Crown Hill logo, this icon completes the combination logo mark and word mark design. The O has been turned into a produce scale. The produce scale serves as a representation of a grocery store, since the produce scale is only ever seen in grocery stores. This icon stands alone, able to replace the full mark on product labels and tags, or any other scenario that calls for a more square shape overall, like a profile picture on social media or a website favicon.

Assets

These assets help to provide a more fun and approachable look to the Costless brand, serving as something of a mascot to the brand. These fruits can go on marketing materials, packaging, signs, receipts, anywhere they might help the brand seem less sterile and official.
